Thank you for visiting my site. Currently the site is not up-to-date and there are no definitive classes planned. I am currently enrolled in a fairly intensive Waldorf teacher training program, am teaching Extended Day and Parent-Child classes at the school. So, needless to say, things are busy around here. There is a possibility that I might be adding some Parent-Child classes this summer (2011) so, please check back. Thank you!
GnomeHollowPlayGarden is a place my husband and I have created for our children. Our home is cozy and we have a lovely yard complete with organic gardens, a fairy trail, a chicken coop with 6 friendly chickens, wooden play structures and a magical playhouse, known as the GnomeHome.
At GnomeHollowPlayGarden, we believe in open-ended toys as they are so important to a child's imaginative play.
It is such a joy to see a child's creativity blossom while they use these toys to create rich stories of their own design.
The Parent-Child class at GnomeHollowPlayGarden is similar to those held at most Waldorf Schools, and will include informal parent discussions with craft, outdoor play time, circle, puppet play, and healthful snack.
Classes are held entirely out of doors and are based on the Waldkindergarten (Forest Kindergarten) movement which originated in Scandanavia. In extreme weather conditions, the snack will be served inside.
